Why We Participate in the National Day of Service
Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints participate in the National Day of Service to put faith into action and bless the lives of others. This day is an opportunity to serve our communities, strengthen neighborhoods, and show Christlike love through meaningful acts of kindness.
Service is a central part of our discipleship. By participating in projects that help those in need, care for the environment, or support local organizations, we live the teachings of Jesus Christ and build connections with those around us. The National Day of Service reminds us that even small, simple acts can have a lasting impact and that service is a way to honor God and bless others every day.
This year we collectively were striving for 911 hours of service leading up to the National Day of Service. We asked people to track their hours and document what service was done.
